Forget the stresses of everyday life as you drive past free range hens & their chicks, cycle through the forest spotting red squirrels & pheasants, or take a stroll round the grounds identifying the various wildflowers & mushrooms.
The accommodation in the open-plan beamed villa includes a fully fitted kitchen where you can create delicious dishes using the finest quality local ingredients. Foie gras, Landaise corn fed chicken, Arcachon oysters, asparagus, cherries, sweet chestnuts, ceps & chanterelles can all be found seasonally in the local markets. This part of France produces many well known cheeses including the world renowned Roquefort.The tastefully decorated living & dining area, large bathroom ² double bed all overlook the exclusive pool & there is a built-in barbecue for dining al fresco.
The bright, cheerfully quaint two bedroom cottage sleeps four comfortably, has a shower room & a spotlit terrace where, on the balmy evenings, you can sip Armagnac or Pastis while watching the setting sun light up the pine trees which are the backdrop to the fresh water trout lake. Bedlinen & towels are provided & the beds are made ready for your arrival. We also provide a high chair & a baby travel cot & mattress, but please bring your own linen for the cot.
Next to the fruit orchard a badminton net is provided for your use, there are free tennis courts in the village & nearby centres offer various outdoor activities including water sports, orienteering & paintball. Most towns have a boules pitch next to a café where you can have a drink while you watch the locals play until you feel ready to join in.There are several annual celebrations in the area including The Fete de Bayonne; The Flamenco Festival & The Madeleine at Mont de Marsan as well as many smaller local village festivities which can be anything from a sardine barbecue & disco to running of the bulls.
